Matthew Remis is a Private Wealth Advisor focusing his efforts and expertise in working with successful individuals, families, and not for profits to manage their assets. He is committed to delivering individualized, fully integrated financial solutions that aim to solve personal challenges, family concerns, and peace of mind via the development of investment strategies. Matt works closely with his SVB Private colleagues and his clients’ external advisors to provide thoughtful advice and guidance on investments, retirement, philanthropy, estate, and tax-planning strategies.
Matt has over two decades of experience in financial services having spent much of his career working closely with clients to manage and develop portfolios that speak specifically and directly to the various needs of each client individually. Prior to joining SVB Private, Matt was an investment advisor at Morgan Stanley for close to ten years, a relationship manager at SVB Private, and prior to that, Head of Business Development and an investment committee member at Heritage Capital Management. All of these roles revolved around working closely with individuals, families, and non-profits focusing on investment strategy, asset allocation, and investment selection. Prior to 2000, Matt spent over five years teaching and coaching internationally as well as domestically.
Mr. Remis has been on the Board of Overseers at Children’s Hospital Boston and a Heart Council Member since 2007. Additionally, Mr. Remis continues to serve on the Beth Israel Deaconess Finance Committee.
Mr. Remis received his B.A. from Union College in New York, his M.B.A from Northeastern University in Boston, and also attended Ben-Gurion University in Israel.
Matthew lives north of Boston with his wife, Cindy, children, Abigail, Emma, and William, and two labradoodles – Fenway and Foxboro. Matt spends a good amount of time coaching various sports’ teams in town as well as serving on town boards of directors for various sports.
