Stop Payments
SVB Online Banking's Stop Payments function allows you to manage stop payment requests for individual checks issued against your SVB USD Deposit Accounts, including:
- Initiate stop payments for a single check.
- Cancel stop payments.
- Update stop payments.
- View stop payments.
When you initiate a stop payment request, SVB Online Banking searches 90 days of account history to determine if a check with a matching check number has been paid against your account. If the check has been paid, you will have the option to view paid check images, or access Transaction Details to view reporting information.
Stop payment requests received after the 8:00 PM PST cut-off time or on non-business days (weekend or bank holiday) will be processed on the next available business day.
Stop payments are effective for 6 months from the date they are placed. Enter a new stop payment request to renew a stop that has expired.
