Remote Capture Services

Tips and Notables

  • Only standard business checks, standard personal checks money orders and cashier’s checks may be deposited. All of the following must be mailed to SVB for processing: foreign checks, Traveler’s Cheques, checks that could not be read by the scanner, duplicate checks, Image Replacement Documents or Substitute Checks.
  • Endorse all checks “Pay to the order of Silicon Valley Bank, For Remote Deposit Only, Company Name, and Account Number”.
  • You can order an endorsement stamp from Deluxe through our Online Banking platform. Select services menu, select check order, proceed to Deluxe stamp ordering. Deposits made by 6:00 PM PST / 9:00 pm EST on a business day are credited that same day. Although the deposits will not appear in the Account Details section of SVB Online Banking until the following business day, they will post with the date they were submitted. Immediately after making a deposit, you will be able to pull reports and view images of the checks in the Remote Capture Services system from the Reports and Research menus.
  • Deposits made close to 6:00 PM PST that require bank review may be processed as if received the following business day.
  • Any check deposited after 6:00 PM PST / 9:00 PM EST, on a weekend or on a bank holiday will be processed as if received the following business day.
  • Checks cannot be reversed once the deposit has been submitted.
  • Retain deposited checks in a safe and secure environment for a minimum of 30 days.
  • Destroy the checks using an unrecoverable method, such as shredding or incineration, immediately following the retention period.
  • To exit the scanner module, click on the Return button located at the top right hand side of the screen. This will direct you back to the SVB Online Banking home screen where you may work with other services or log-out of the current online banking session.
  • Periodically it will be necessary to clean the scanner using the scanner cleaning card provided. We recommend cleaning your scanner regularly. Based on usage volume, your scanner may require more frequent cleaning.
