Getting Started - Log In for the First Time
Welcome to SVB Online Banking! To log in, you'll need two pieces of information:
- User ID: This is the ID you requested at enrollment, or the ID assigned to you by an Online Banking Administrator at your company.
- Temporary Password: Your temporary password is automatically emailed to you after your enrollment. This password is required for your first log in.
Users accessing UK Services will require an additional piece of information:
- One Time Code: As a part of your initial log in, a one time code is sent to your phone number we have on file. You will be required to use this one time code when you first log in to Online Banking.
Important: If you have forgotten your User ID, contact your company’s SVB Online Banking Administrator. User IDs become disabled after 18 months of inactivity. Your Administrator can enable your User ID. If you are an Administrator, contact Client Services.
Complete the following steps to log in and get started:
- Visit SVB Online Banking at http://www.svbconnect.com. Bookmark this site for future access.
- Enter your User ID and temporary password.

- Click Log In.
- UK Services Only: If you have registered to access UK Services, you will be required to take the following steps:
- Confirm the phone number which was used as a part of your registration.
- Enter the code you have been sent.
- Click Authenticate.
- Read the Online Banking Terms & Conditions.
- Click Accept.
- Create a permanent password. SVB recommends a complex password that includes combinations of letters, numbers, and special characters.
- Click Save
- Select three challenge questions and responses to help identify you if you forget your password.
- Click Next.
- Lastly, set your Authenticate phone numbers. These phone numbers will be used to authenticate you by phone or text for certain online activities within SVB Online Banking. A minimum of two valid phone numbers are required.
Administrators
After your initial log in, SVB recommends contacting your Relationship Team to schedule a training session, including an overview of the Administrator role and functions.
Users
If you required additional training, an Administrator for your company can provide you with training or point you to resources available within the SVB Learning Central.

You can also visit the My Security page for help changing your password, challenge questions, Authenticate phone numbers, and to download IBM® Security Trusteer Rapport®, a free plug-in that provides an additional layer of security when entering your Online Banking login information.
