SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 8, 2005 - Silicon Valley Bank, the primary banking subsidiary of SVB Financial Group (Nasdaq: SIVB), appointed Pamela Aldsworth Northeast region manager and Dave Dailey senior credit officer to lead the company's efforts in the Northeast. Aldsworth, previously the company's Northeast senior credit officer, will oversee all business development and client relationship management for the offices in Boston, Philadelphia and New York. In his new role, Dailey, a former senior relationship manager in Silicon Valley Bank's (SVB) Chicago office, will manage the design and origination of loans and lines of credit for SVB clients, while maintaining loan portfolio credit quality for the region.

Mike Selfridge, SVB's former Northeast region manager, is leaving the region to join the leadership team of Silicon Valley Bank's Global Financial Services Group as the head of global products and services. Based in Santa Clara, Calif., Selfridge will oversee all of SVB's global financial services products and service teams, new product development, and the growth and management of global strategic alliances and partnerships. Selfridge will also be instrumental in developing the strategy and identifying the product and service opportunities that will further enhance SVB's continued global expansion.

"Our new leaders represent the best of Silicon Valley Bank's strong employee base and highlight the depth of experience we have within the organization. Pamela, Dave and Mike are already significant contributors to Silicon Valley Bank's market position and success and these new roles will leverage their considerable talents more fully," said Greg Becker, chief operating officer, Silicon Valley Bank. "These new leaders exemplify the high standards of professionalism SVB follows in hiring and development. Our approach to cross-training in the credit and sales sides of our business is unique in banking and Pamela and Dave are great examples of how well that model works."

In her previous role as senior credit officer, Aldsworth co-managed the Northeast region and, more specifically, maintained excellent loan quality through frequent interaction with account officers and senior credit officers. Aldsworth joined Silicon Valley Bank in 1995 as a relationship manager and became the region's senior credit officer in 2003.

Dailey began his tenure at SVB in 1994 as a collateral auditor in the company's Boston office. In 1997 he moved to Chicago and has been instrumental in establishing and growing SVB's team and reputation in Chicago and the greater Midwest. Prior to joining Silicon Valley Bank, Dailey was at Fleet Bank and ABN Amro.

An 11-year SVB veteran, Selfridge had held numerous leadership roles at the company, most recently Northeast region manager. Previously, Selfridge served as the senior credit officer of the Southeast region and the senior vice president of the Northern Virginia Technology Group, where he was responsible for lending to early and later stage technology companies and venture capital firms.
