SVB Capital Expands its Funds Team

PALO ALTO, Calif., September 26, 2007 - SVB Capital Partners, the funds management team within SVB Financial Group (Nasdaq: SIVB), has hired two senior members, John Dominguez and Vincent C. Williams to expand its funds team.

Effective immediately, Dominguez joins SVB as a partner on the funds management team to help broaden the firm's investment capabilities in later-stage private equity, growth capital and buyouts. Williams also joins SVB as a partner responsible for product development and fund raising in the mid- to large-size institutional markets. He will focus primarily on corporate and public pension plans.

SVB Capital leverages the SVB Financial Group platform and its unique and long-standing relationships in its target markets to access oversubscribed, invitation-only private equity funds and company financings on behalf of its fund of funds and direct fund investors in the U.S. and internationally. SVB Capital Partners also benefits from the wealth of industry information the SVB platform provides, which is used in conjunction with proven investment selection expertise when deploying right-sized funds focused on top-tier performers. The SVB Capital family of funds exceeds one billion dollars and includes fund of funds, direct funds, venture debt funds and specialty debt funds invested primarily on behalf of endowments and foundations.

John Dominguez joins SVB Capital from Hall Capital Management LLC where he was manager of the Private Equity Group, covering venture capital, private equity and leveraged buyout investments. Previously, Dominguez was a founding principal and managing director of PrivateTrade Inc. and the director of Alternative Investments for the Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA) of Colorado.

Dominguez has more than ten years of private equity investment experience and he has served on numerous private equity fund advisory boards focused on the U.S., European and Asian markets. He earned a bachelor's degree in finance and a master's in business administration from the University of Colorado.

Vincent Williams became an investment manager focused on large public funds in 1995 after serving as a business lawyer for a decade. Most recently, Williams was senior vice president and managing director of institutional sales for Northern Trust Global Investments in Chicago where he was responsible for developing and implementing the company's business strategy within the public and corporate marketplace for North America. Prior to Northern, Williams was a director of public funds for Victory Capital Management, and a senior vice president at Mesirow Financial Inc., where he began fundraising for private equity and venture capital.

Williams is a former board member for the National Association of Securities Professionals, and holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Northwestern University and a juris doctorate from the University of California, San Francisco.

Both Dominguez and Williams will be based in the Palo Alto office of SVB Capital.
