Chris Stedman is Head of Client Acquisition at SVB. In this role, he's responsible for four distinct teams that build relationships and develop new business across the SVB platform; venture capital relationship management, sales origination, corporate venturing, and analytics.
Previously, Stedman ran SVB Capital’s venture capital and private equity relationship management team, managing the organization's network of relationships with venture capital and private equity firms and their partners. Stedman has held several other leadership roles within SVB Financial Group during his 15 year tenure. Previously, as head of relationship management for Silicon Valley Bank’s western division, Stedman was responsible for the sales teams in the technology and life science segments across California. He also served as a senior credit officer, responsible for risk management across multiple business units.
Before joining SVB, Stedman worked in CIBC Oppenheimer’s Corporate Finance group, specializing in the issuance of high yield debt, syndicated bank debt, leveraged transactions and corporate advisory arrangement.
Stedman sits on the boards of NextDoor Solutions, the largest nonprofit serving victims of domestic violence in Santa Clara County, and the Churchill Club, an igniter of conversations to spur innovation and economic growth. Stedman holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from University of California, Santa Barbara and has received the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
