Silicon Valley Bank has been involved in Asian markets since the early 1990s, and in China specifically since 1999, building relationships with technology companies, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and service providers to help our clients work with businesses in and sell into overseas markets.
SVB Business Partners (Shanghai) opened in 2005 to support our technology and private equity clients by serving as a hub for companies that are expanding business activities or adding a physical presence in the region.
Through SVB Business Partners (Shanghai) we offer diverse services to help our enterprising clients succeed:
- Consulting and business services such as educational information, networking and introductions to recommended service providers (lawyers, accountants, real estate brokers, HR firms, etc.)
- SVB Business Partners (Shanghai)-hosted networking events and connections to clients and partners worldwide
- Administrative/ business services for select clients, including venture fund clients, while visiting China
- Liaison services to Silicon Valley Bank for financial services in the U.S., including global treasury, foreign exchange, global finance and global trade
- This subsidiary will not provide lending, deposit or investment advisory services
