Boston-based Hanewich brings more than 25 years of commercial banking experience and extensive expertise within Healthcare/Life Science companies, venture capital firms, corporate venture capital, entrepreneurs, accounting and law firms.
Hanewich is nationally known for his Venture Capital Training Series and is on the advisory board of the Digital Healthcare Innovation Summit. He is a frequent speaker appearing at top venture capital CEO summits and prestigious academic institutions worldwide. Hanewich is an expert moderator and panel member of top-tier global industry events including the Biotech in Europe Investor Forum, BIO CEO & Investor Conference, Boston Biotech Conferences (BBC). He was honored with Silicon Valley Bank's Biggerstaff Award in 2010 for individuals who exemplify the Company's Guiding Principles and demonstrate outstanding leadership, client focus and extra-ordinary performance.
Before joining Silicon Valley Bank in 1999, Hanewich was Executive Vice President at Flagship Bank and Trust Company for ten years and was instrumental in developing their biotechnology business and financing and treasury management services. Prior to joining Flagship Bank and Trust, Hanewich was with the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation.
Hanewich holds a bachelor’s degree from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida where he is a member of Tritons Hall of Fame for baseball. He holds a graduate degree from The Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware.
