Jeff Strawn heads the global credit products group for Silicon Valley Bank and has extensive experience in financial services and technology lending. Throughout his career Strawn has structured creative credit solutions in asset-based lending, international trade, purchase order, and inventory financing. In his current position, Strawn is responsible for the bank’s global credit products, global trade services, and correspondent bank relationships.
Strawn has fulfilled a number of roles at Silicon Valley Bank since joining the company in 2001, starting as a senior portfolio manager in the company’s Specialty Finance Division, to credit officer, and senior relationship manager. As a senior staff member, Strawn has also served as an instructor for SVB’s learning and development courses, part of the bank’s recognition committee and a board member of the SVB Foundation.
Prior to joining Silicon Valley Bank, Strawn served for three years as vice president and loan officer for San Jose National Bank’s Financial Services Division.
Strawn earned an MBA in 1990 from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird), with a language focus in Mandarin Chinese. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Chico State University in 1988. While attending Chico, Strawn work for the University Center for Economic Development. After graduate school, he served in the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office of Economic Development supporting Mayor Bradley’s export development program.
For the past six years he has served on the board of the Arts Council Silicon Valley, a regional non-profit arts organization that supports funding, grants, marketing support, and arts education. He served three years as board treasurer and most recently as board president.
