Cyndi Korbar has over 30 years of experience in financial services. Cyndi joined Silicon Valley Bank in 2004 as Managing Director of SVB Private Bank. Based in Seattle, she leads the private banking effort for the Central United States, encompassing the Pacific Northwest, Midwest, Rocky Mountains and Southwest. SVB Private Bank is focused on delivering tailored lending and banking solutions designed to enhance our client’s wealth creation. Our client base is comprised exclusively of private equity and venture capital professionals as well as founders and C-level executives affiliated with technology and life science companies, and the owners of premium wineries. Silicon Valley Bank has been committed to this ecosystem for 30 years, which has resulted in specialized knowledge and insight into the unique financial needs of the individuals leading those firms via the Private Bank.
Cyndi joined Silicon Valley Bank after 27 years at Bank of America in Southern California, where she worked with both public and private companies and their shareholders as a corporate banker, investment banker, personal financial advisor and private banker. In her final role she was a senior banking executive in the Southern California market for Bank of America’s Private Bank. In this role Cyndi led the development and sales team initiatives as a trusted financial partner to corporate and commercial bank clients through a seamless delivery of investment, credit, fiduciary, specialized asset management and depository services. Cyndi also worked closely with the financial and legal advisors for her clients and focused on the complex planning issues involved when balancing personal wealth considerations with corporate strategies. Typical situations included succession planning, valuation issues, estate planning, wealth diversification, shareholder liquidity events, founder liquidity, tax issues and strategies, stock option planning, and hedging and liquefying large positions in publicly traded stock.
In addition to her banking experience, Cyndi is active in professional and community groups, previously serving on the boards of several non-profit and community action organizations in Southern California and currently in the Pacific Northwest. Cyndi is currently a member of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), MIT Venture Lab, The Northwest Entrepreneur Network (NWEN), Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA), Illinois Venture Capital Association (IVCA), and Venture Capital In the Rockies (VCIR). She also serves as an advisor and liaison with the Alliance of Angels, Technology Alliance, Northwest Entrepreneur Network (NWEN) and the Puget Sound Venture Club.
