Bob heads Silicon Valley Bank’s Corporate Finance Group which provides commercial banking and guidance to mid-market and large corporate technology clients throughout the world. Corporate Finance’s job is to make SVB the last bank any tech company will ever need…or want. Related, Bob also co-heads SVB's Asia Link group, which partners with Asian client companies moving to or expanding in the US and US client companies moving to or expanding in Asia, working together to increase clients' probability of success.
Previously, Bob held a variety of roles in SVB’s California and Midwest geographies, most recently heading seed, early and mid-stage Software and Hardware/Infrastructure banking in the Bay Area and Southern California, along with SVB’s national Mezzanine lending practice. Prior to that, he led SVB’s Midwest region for 7 years. Before joining SVB in 2003, Blee was an entrepreneur and principal at SAVO, a Chicago-based provider of hosted sales enablement software. And prior to SAVO, Blee spent nine years as a commercial lender and manager at Comerica and LaSalle Banks in Chicago.
Bob sits on the non-profit boards of EF (fka Entrepreneur Foundation – now part of the SV Community Foundation) and the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). He is also active with his alma mater University of Illinois and several tech and business organizations.
