Senior Director, Silicon Valley Bank Global Credit Services

Li Song, CFA is the senior director of Global Credit Products (GCP) at Silicon Valley Bank. Song’s main responsibilities include developing GCP’s strategy of fueling clients’ export growth, and leading its execution. Under his leadership, the GCP team grew its core product, the Ex-Im guarantee program by 340 percent in 3 years.

Song has over 15 years of experience in financial consulting and corporate banking, assisting clients in international trade and equity and debt financing strategies. Prior to joining the GCP team in 2007, Song was a director at SVB Analytics. He was responsible for facilitating the establishment and expansion of SVB Analytics' clientele; shaping the firm's valuation strategy; constructing valuation models and issuing valuation reports for venture capital backed private companies.

Prior to joining SVB Analytics in 2006, Song was a portfolio manager at SVB's Specialty Finance Division, where he managed the firm's structured finance practice in Northern California.

Before joining SVB in 2000, Song was a Global Business Liaison at China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), an influential cabinet-level trade policy setting organization in China. At CCOIC, Song provided key inputs to its Chairman on banking sector's role in facilitating international trade. Song also served the global trade-advising role for Chinese president and prime minister in the overseas state visits from 1994 to 1999.

Song received his MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management and he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.
