Marc Verissimo is the chief risk officer for SVB Financial Group. In this capacity he oversees credit, the enterprise wide risk management group, the corporate cyber and physical security group, the community reinvestment act group, the credit review function, the portfolio analytics group, corporate compliance, regulatory relations, compliance with the bank secrecy act, anti-money laundering regulations and global sanctions, and the fraud investigations unit. Marc is also a voting member of Silicon Valley Bank's senior loan committee.
Marc joined Silicon Valley Bank in 1993 as team leader for the Palo Alto technology group. He was quickly promoted to division manager for Northern California and became division manager for all California lending groups in 1996. From 1999 to 2004, Marc served SVB in several capacities, including two periods as interim chief financial officer. Marc also oversaw SVB Global, the opening of overseas offices, and SVB Analytics.
Before joining Silicon Valley Bank, Marc managed Comerica Bank's technology lending group. Earlier in his career he worked with First Interstate Bank as a loan team manager. Marc's banking career began with Bank of America, where he was a vice president and lending officer. Marc serves as an advisory member of the Board of Directors for High Street Partners, the leader in International business software and services.
Marc earned a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics from the University of California, Davis, and a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.
