Mary DentFounder, dcIQ
Mary is the founder of dcIQ, a consulting firm that helps empower entrepreneurs by providing insight into public policy issues affecting their businesses. Before forming dcIQ in August 2013, Mary served as General Counsel and Vice President of Public Policy for Silicon Valley Bank, the leading provider of financial services to innovative companies and their investors around the world. Before joining SVB, Mary served as General Counsel and Special Counsel for New Skies Satellites, a Netherlands-based company that owned and operated a global satellite communications system. Mary's work with SVB and New Skies built on more than a decade working in and with Washington, D.C., both on the staff of Senator Edward M. Kennedy and as an attorney with Goldberg, Godles, Wiener & Wright, where she advised companies on issues before the Federal Communications Commission. Mary serves on the Boards of Green Dot Corp. and Green Dot Bank, on the Advisory Board of Stanford's Institute for Research in the Social Sciences (IRiSS), and on the Board of All Five, a Bay Area preschool initiative. Mary holds a B.A. in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles and a J.D. from Stanford Law School.
Michael DescheneauxCFO, Silicon Valley Bank
Michael Descheneaux is the chief financial officer of SVB Financial Group,responsible for all finance and accounting functions for the company.
Descheneaux joined SVB Financial Group in 2006. He has extensive accounting and finance, corporate governance and international business experience, which he developed as an auditor and consultant in the financial services and telecommunications sectors.
Prior to joining SVB, Descheneaux was a managing director with Navigant Consulting and head of Arthur Andersen's Financial Services Practice for the Central and Eastern Europe Region, advising large, public
and multi-national clients. He was lead audit partner with Andersen's Telecommunications and High Tech Practice in that region, and technical expert partner on U.S. GAAP and GAAS matters. During his time at Andersen, which also included assignments in the firm's U.S. offices, Descheneaux advised clients on a wide range of accounting and finance related issues, including audits of financial statements, SEC filings, restatements, purchase and due diligence investigations, arbitration and litigation support, internal controls, and off-shore investment structures. Descheneaux has provided extensive acquisition advisory services to large banking clients and has served as an expert and consultant in international arbitration disputes related to banking and investing.
Descheneaux holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and graduated cum laude from Texas A&M University. He is a Certified Public Accountant, as well as a member of the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Lindel EakmanManaging Director, Private Markets, University of Texas Investment Management Company
As Managing Director for UTIMCO, Lindel is responsible for overseeing the private investment program. The private investment portfolio represents approximately 25% of endowment assets spread across multiple mandates including venture, growth, buyout and credit investments in developed and emerging markets. Lindel joined UTIMCO upon receiving his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business. Lindel previously worked for KPMG, LLP and Stephens, Inc. He attended Texas Christian University for his undergraduate studies in accounting and finance. Lindel is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas and a CFA charter holder. Lindel formerly served as an executive committee board member of the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA), the global trade association representing more than 270 limited partner organizations investing in private equity. Lindel resides in Austin, Texas with his wife and two daughters.
Edy GreenblattManaging Director of Execu-Care Coaching and Consulting
Edy Greenblatt, PH.D. is an author, motivational speaker, executive coach, entrepreneur, management consultant and scholar. She is managing director of Execu-Care Coaching and Consulting and a senior consultant to Mobius Executive Leadership. Dr. Greenblatt has worked as an Organization practice specialist with McKinsey & Company, and as Assistant Professor at the Center for Effective Organizations at the University of Southern California. She has also had successful careers as a dance ethnologist, television and radio talk show host, performing artist and a circus peanut vendor. Edy is the author of numerous books and articles including here most recent book Restore Yourself: The Antidote for Professional Exhaustion.
Dr. Greenblatt earned her Ph.D. in the joint program in Organizational Behavior at Harvard University and Harvard Business School. She has worked with numerous Fortune 500 companies, entrepreneurial ventures, and individuals on leadership, team effectiveness, communications, women's issues, performance improvement and executive coaching engagements worldwide. Edy currently lives in Santa Monica, California and serves on the board of the Harvard Business School Alumni Association of Southern California and is co-president of its Women's Network. In her free time she still dances, flies on the trapeze, swims and sleeps.
Ashraf HebelaDirector, Enterprise Business Analytics, Silicon Valley Bank
Ashraf Hebela is Head of Product Management for SVB Analytics and is responsible for defining SVB Analytics' product roadmap and releases. Some of his responsibilities include, but are not limited to, product positioning, pricing, business development and product strategy.
Prior to joining SVB in 2009, Hebela was Senior Director of Product Management at NorthStar Systems, Inc., where he managed the enterprise wealth management software application for high net worth advisors at Fortune 100 financial institutions. He also worked as a Group Program Manager at Siebel Systems where he was responsible for the technology roadmap and implementation for the Global Services organization. Prior to Siebel Systems, Hebela was a consultant for Accenture.
Hebela earned a bachelor of arts in economics with distinction from Harvard University, and also holds a masters in business administration and global management from Stanford University. He is a BUILD mentor and a member of the CFA Society of San Francisco.
Lindsey SimonFounder, Simon Compliance
Lindsey Simon is a security's professional with fifteen years of experience. Ms. Simon specializes in private equity registration, hedge fund registration, mock SEC audits and ongoing compliance management for investment advisors.
She served as a Senior Attorney with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission in the Division of Enforcement, and as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Carpe Diem Capital Management, a Chicago-based hedge fund. She was an Associate in the litigation department of the Chicago office of Winston & Strawn and also served as a law clerk for the Honorable William J. Bauer of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Simon received her B.A., cum laude, from Emory University, and her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology.
Bruce WallaceChief Operations Officer, Silicon Valley Bank
Bruce Wallace is chief operations officer of SVB Financial Group. In this role, he is responsible for leading all bank and non-bank operations and IT services for SVB worldwide.
Previously, Wallace headed SVB's global services group since 2008. In this role, he was responsible for operations, product management, global transaction banking, and service delivery across all of SVB's platforms and supported SVB clients worldwide.
Prior to joining SVB, Wallace spent more than 20 years in a variety of management positions with Wells Fargo & Company. Most recently, Wallace was a senior vice president and manager of Wells Fargo's treasury management operations. He also held prior senior management positions in Retail Banking, Risk and Fraud Operations, ATM Banking, Payment Services, Card Services, and Commercial Banking Operations.
Wallace earned a bachelor's degree in accounting graduating Cum Laude from California State University, Sacramento. He is currently a board director for SVB Securities, SVB Asset Management, SVB India Advisors, SVB Financial Group UK Limited, and the SPDB-Silicon Valley Bank Joint Venture Bank in Shanghai.
He has previously served on the boards for the International Accounts Payable Professionals Association, the Association for Work Process Improvements (chairman), Federal Reserve Cash Advisory Council, the Western Payments Alliance Board of Directors, the New York Clearing House Bank Operations Committee, and the BITS (Banking Industry Technology) Fraud Steering Committee.

Navy SEAL Bootcamp: an Invigorating Morning Workout
What better way to start your morning than with an invigorating, rigorous workout on the picturesque Coronado Beach with the most skilled soldiers on the planet? You will begin the day with a sense of empowerment like you've never felt before. Current or retired Navy SEAL instructors will take you through some of the most durable, tested and effective fitness routines ever created. You will also be treated to an up close and personal question and answer session at the end of your workout, where you'll learn things first hand from the experienced SEALs themselves.
Start your day off with the warmth of the San Diego sun on your face and the soothing sounds of the waves as you prepare to strengthen and tone your body and mind while practicing Pilates on the Beach. The certified Hotel del Pilates instructors will help you focus on smooth movements and proper body alignment. These exercises will help you develop a strong core body (abs & back) while developing increased flexibility, range of motion & stress awareness.
Kidtopia is the Hotel del Coronado’s activities center, ideal for children ages 3 to 11, featuring beach-themed activities and play rooms, underwater murals, funhouse mirrors, computers and more. SVB has exclusively booked Kidtopia on Thursday, July 31 from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM for your use. See the full schedule below. Toddler participants must be fully potty-trained. Kidtopia staff will be on-hand Wednesday, July 30 during the conference registration hours to assist with camp sign-ups. There is no need to register in advance for SVB Kids' Camp.
Children ages 11 through 18 may enjoy surf lessons, taught be the Hotel del Coronado's preferred surf school, Gnarly Neal's on Thursday, July 31 from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM. Wetsuits and surf gear will be provided.
After a morning of surfing, enjoy tournament-style beach games including ladder golf and corn hole. Sign-ups for surf lessons and beach games will be available in the hospitality suite throughout the day on Wednesday. Kids interested in surf lessons must must sign-up on Wednesday.
