This will be the 11th year that SVBers, friends
and families will be participating in the Best Buddies Hearst Castle Challenge
to raise money for this important organization. Last year, Team SVB successfully raised over $827,000 for the cause. This year, we'd love to raise
even more and we're hoping you'll join us.

Every registered event participant needs to complete an order form to ensure the correct sized cycle kits are provided. Complete one registration form for you and your guests. Registration form includes both the team dinner and cycle kits.
Recommended: Pick up your kit on Wednesday, August 27th from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at the SVB Menlo Park Office (2770 Sand Hill Road).
You will also be able to pick up your kit at the Team Dinner on September 5th.
Best Buddies is always looking for volunteers. Below are some of the volunteer opportunities. To sign up, please visit the volunteer registration site . When you select a shift, you are confirming your availability. You are welcome to sign up for multiple shifts, but please be careful not to double book yourself and to give yourself enough time to get to each location.

Assist with venue setup, rider registration, parking coordination, and light cleanup duties.

Assist in the coordination, lifting and movement of rider bikes at the finish line. Light lifting is involved.

***Unfortunately, due to capacity limitations, volunteers are not permitted to attend the post ride barbeque and concert without meeting the same fundraising goal of our riders, walkers, and runners.

Best Buddies also provides training support and group rides.
Ride with the pros on Sunday, July 27th at our next training ride - a 30 mile ride around Woodside, CA! We'll be joined by Cannondale Pros Cam Wurf and Tim Johnson as well as Olympic cyclist Lyne Bessette. Don't worry, they won't be riding at race pace! All cyclists are welcome to attend regardless if they are registered or not-registered for the Best Buddies Challenge - so come on out and bring some friends too! We can’t wait to see you! Location: Woodside, CA. Departing from the start of the Cañada Road closure off the intersection of 92 and Cañada. See Map.
Joy Yang has graciously offered to organize daily rides (Mon-Thurs) from the Tasman office. Daily rides will kick off on Monday, July 7th. If you are interested, please email Joy firstname.lastname@example.org each day by 4:00pm so she knows who is coming.
The route is from Tasman campus, take Great American Pkwy, get on to the trail entry by 237 (distance from 3003 building is about 1.x mile), then all the way down to South, pass SJO and keep going to SJ downtown, then turnaround. All paved surface.
It can be viewed from the screen shot below: as you can see the main route is on a close to traffic trail (Guadalupe trail) so safety is almost guaranteed. Click on the map for a larger view.
