Silicon Valley Bank Promotes Denver-Based Risk Manager

BROOMFIELD, Colo., March 4, 2008 - SVB Silicon Valley Bank, a leading provider of diversified financial services to companies in the technology, life science, private equity and premium wine industries, announced the promotion of Derek Ridgley to risk manager of the company's Central Division. In his new role, Ridgley will oversee risk management and underwriting for the 28-state division and fulfill a senior leadership role alongside the division manager, Scott Bergquist. Ridgley has more than 20 years of technology banking experience and has served SVB in a variety of roles, including lending, relationship management and advisory services, since joining the company in 1997. Most recently he was instrumental in defining and building the product and client advisory services teams, which he led for the Central Division.

Ridgley has served in leadership positions on the boards of several technology industry organizations including the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network, the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Oregon and the Software Association of Oregon. He has also been a member of AeA and Northwest Venture Group and a volunteer with the United Way.

Ridgley earned a bachelor's degree from Cornell University and is based in Broomfield, Colo.
