Silicon Valley Bank Hires Industry Veteran to Lead National Software Practice

PALO ALTO, CA –– November 3, 2011 —Silicon Valley Bank, financial partner to technology companies of all sizes worldwide, hired Robert Curley to lead the software practice for the bank's large corporate clients. As managing director and sector head for software in Silicon Valley Bank's Corporate Finance group, Curley will manage teams across the country dedicated to serving the corporate financial needs of software companies. Curley has been providing technology lending, investment banking, venture equity and debt financing to software companies for more than 25 years.

Before joining Silicon Valley Bank in October, 2011, Curley was a senior vice president and managing director of MMV Financial in Palo Alto where he led its investment activities in Silicon Valley and the West. Previously, Curley spent nearly eight years as a General Partner of Pinnacle Ventures, a private, venture capital fund focused on providing debt and equity financing to companies in information technology, cleantech and healthcare sectors. Curley founded or ran technology divisions at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), Deutsche Bank (DMG) and Bank of America. Curley received his BBA in finance from the University of Notre Dame.
