Napa Valley, CA -- August 1, 2001 -- Silicon Valley Bank (the "Bank"), a wholly owned subsidiary of Silicon Valley Bancshares, announced it provided Oracle Vineyard with a credit facility to further develop its vineyards. Dundee, Oregon-based Oracle Vineyard will provide grapes solely to Westrey Wine Company for its nationally recognized wines.
"We greatly appreciate Silicon Valley Bank's understanding of Oracle Vineyard's vision," said Tito Autrey, partner of Oracle Vineyard. "This line of credit will enable us to begin planting our new Pinot Noir clones and restore wonderful old vines that have historically produced award-winning wines."
David Autrey, partner of Westrey Wine Company added, "The Bank's funding of Oracle Vineyard is the completion of Westrey Wine Company's goal of becoming an estate winery. With Oracle Vineyard, Westrey will finally be able to control a majority of its fruit from ground to the bottle."
"This is a great opportunity for the Bank to increase our commitment to the high-end Oregon wine industry," said Rob McMillan, Silicon Valley Bank's Industry Specific Finance division manager. "Oracle has a great vineyard site and will soon be providing fruit to a well-established, well-regarded label in Westrey."
