Living and working in California has its rewards. Longer days, access to beautiful beaches, and fantastic weather year round. It leaves us with very little to complain about and a big desire to give back. For Silicon Valley Bank's campaign, we were presented with several options for our service day. We couldn't decide on just one, so with the help of , our team of 18 SVBers met at La Jolla Shores to take on three projects close to our hearts.
is the region's largest organization dedicated to protecting and restoring the beaches and waters from which residents of San Diego County swim, fish, and drink. Our group of beach clean-up volunteers combed the shores to collect and discard trash, removing 18 pounds of trash and over 100 cigarette butts.
Another part of our volunteer team worked with , a national organization providing handmade blankets for children in need. Our "blanketeers" were tasked with making colorful, fleece blankets for patients at a local children's hospital.
