SVB Volunteers Refresh Staff Offices at the Mt. Diablo Center for AdultsDecember 17, 2013 Posted by: Mark Harris
During SVB's 30 Years|30 Causes campaign, a team of 23 from our Pleasanton office updated the staff offices of the Mt. Diablo Center for Adult Day Healthcare in Pleasant Hill, CA with the assistance of HandsOn Bay Area. Since 1949, Mt. Diablo has provided quality, structured day recreation and therapy services for elderly and disabled adults in Contra Costa County. In particular, it serves individuals with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. The programs offer patients and their caregivers support groups and educational seminars among other social services.
A regular day for employees at Mt. Diablo is unpredictable and demanding. We were happy to lend a hand by giving their offices an update with fresh paint and a brighter outlook. It's amazing how a paint job can make such a huge difference in your environment. Our team along with some of our children and colleagues from other offices felt great about giving Mt. Diablo's dedicated and caring team a fresh space to start the new year.
While researchers are getting closer to a scientific cure, therapeutic care remains a necessary part of treating and supporting people living with dementia, specifically Alzheimer's. The development and success of the Mt. Diablo Health Center is due in great part to the volunteer support it receives from the community.
