Silicon Valley Bankers Support the InnVision Shelter NetworkDecember 17, 2013 Posted by: Bruce Wallace
InnVision The Way Home, part of the InnVision Shelter Network is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless families and individuals in Silicon Valley and San Francisco return to permanent housing in the Bay Area. Its vision is to empower at-risk families and individuals. To do so it provides housing, food, and programs that promote self-sufficiency. InnVision serves the South Bay with emergency shelters, transitional and supportive housing, and permanent multi-housing units and apartments. The network of services meets the emergency and longer-term need for thousands of people each year.
As part of our 30 Years | 30 Causes campaign, 183 SVB employees from our IT and operational teams filled our auditorium to support InnVision. With 10 bolts of fabric our volunteers collaborated to make 42 no-sew fleece blankets and decorating 307 baby onesies for families who utilize InnVision's services. We hope that our efforts will help a few more families stay warm and feel supported by the larger community this holiday season.
InnVision Shelter Network depends on the time and talent of more than 18,000 local volunteers annually. If you are looking for a way to give back this holiday season, or want to plan ahead for the New Year, visit www.ivsn.org/volunteer/ to learn more about how you can get involved.
About 30 Years | 30 Causes
The "30 Years |30 Causes" campaign was developed after Silicon Valley Bank crowd sourced ideas from its employees to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The company will host 30 community service events around the world near each of its offices in 2013. A listing of SVB's 30 Years | 30 Causes events, as well as photos, will be updated at www.svb.com/svb-30-years/ and www.facebook.com/SVBFinancialGroup Follow @SVB_Financial's community service initiatives on Twitter with #SVB30. Points of Light is assisting SVB with the development and execution of these events worldwide.Read More
